Turn over a new leaf

‘Turn over a new leaf’ is an interior editorial designed for a Spring issue of Real living magazine.

The focal colour ‘Koi’ (orange) was immensely popular in the 1960’s, blues and tans were also very common for this decade, so this lead me to the theme of the 1960’s. For the concept ‘Turn over a new leaf’ I wanted to reinvent the 60’s, to take the iconic shapes and colours into a modern living and dining space. With the world in such crisis I think we need to look to rebirth, of ways we will overcome this. I hope my editorial gives viewers a bit of hope and they see the hidden meaning behind the title. In fact the phrase that titles this editorial can be defined as “a means to start over, to act in a different manner or change your attitude about something” (ginger.com, 2020).
